- When using this jack to lift timber joists or bearers, ensure you place a metal plate under the timber to spread the load. Single point loading on structural timber members can cause them to splinter and split.
- Always use a backup safety mechanism when lifting anything. For example, car stands, concrete blocks, or criss-cross stacked timber “dollies” greatly reduce the risk of having things land on you while working underneath.
- Always place the jack on a flat, stable, and solid surface. If trying to lift something off the ground, place a timber block, paver, or similar underneath to evenly distribute the load and prevent the jack from sinking into the ground.
